·         昨天,我去商店忘了带钱了,恰巧碰到我的朋友,他借钱给我了。
·         今天,我忘了带课本,恰巧老师就要检查每个人是否带了书。

2.      只好
·         Have to
·         “只好”is used to indicate there is no other choice
·         昨天,我们去游乐场玩,但是它关门了,所以我们就只好回家了。
·         我今天录音没有录好,只好下次再录。

3.       不是。。。就是
·         Either…or; if not A…then B
·         “不是。。。就是”denotes a choice between two possibilities
·         他打开电脑不是玩游戏就是看视频。
·         他的电话不是关机就是不通,所以我联系不到他。

4.      除了。。。(以外)
·         Besides; apart from
·         “除了。。。(以外)”indicates an exception when it is followed by “都”in the second clause, but when it is followed by “还”or“也”, it is equivalent to “in addition to” or “besides” in English.
·         除了化学以外,他最喜欢的课就是电脑科学。
·         除了电脑,他没有别的电器。

·         “即使”is used with“也/还是”to express a hypothetical situation or concession.

·         Most of; mostly
·         “大都”is an adverb. It can only be followed by a verb, adjective, or“是”. It cannot be followed by nouns. “大多数” can be followed by a verb, adjective, or “是”. It can also be followed by nouns.
·         大多数的加州人都不喜欢佩林。
·         这里的学生大都不喜欢做作业。
